Leah Verkuylen BCBA, LBA obtained her master’s degree from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale in 2017 and has spent the last 3 years of her career working with adolescent clients in the in-home setting in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Leah also has experience as PEAK trainer and presented Level 1 PEAK Trainings throughout the United States and abroad.
Erica L. Whiting, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral health concerns and/or developmental disabilities in a variety of settings (e.g., outpatient, home and school-based, summer camp, and college counseling). As the Clinical Director for a regional crisis program for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, Dr. Whiting provides diagnostic assessment services, clinical oversight, and behavioral programming, in addition to psychoeducation & training to clients, families, and providers to promote community integration and care in least restrictive settings. Dr. Whiting has completed a post-graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis through Florida Institute of Technology and is pursuing supervision toward Board certification as a behavior analyst.

Description of Type 2 / Learning CE Event:Â
This CEU event is intended for BCBAs who are interested in learning about a Behavior Analytic approach to defining anxiety related behaviors as well as suggestions for a Behavior Analytic based approach to ameliorating symptoms of anxiety. This training is designed for BCBAs who have a moderate level of experience working with anxiety related behaviors or Acceptance and Commitment based training. This training begins with an overview of anxiety related disorders and how they may commonly present to others as well as behavior analytic based definitions of overt and covert anxiety related behaviors. This training ends with some suggested approaches to reducing anxiety related behaviors and maintaining these behavior changes over time.
