The Social Work Clinical Exam
The Social Work Clinical Exam is an exam administered by the ASWB. Candidates who pass the ASWB Clinical Exam and meet their state’s licensure requirements are able to practice as Clinical Social Workers in their state. Depending on the state, Clinical Social Workers may earn an LCSW, CSW, LISW, LSCSW, LCSW-C, or LICSW license.
The ASWB Clinical exam contains 170 multiple-choice questions. 150 of these questions are scored, while the remaining 20 questions are being tested for inclusion in future exams. Candidates have 4 hours to complete the exam.

- Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment Planning
- Psychotherapy, Clinical Interventions, and Case Management
