Bio: Dr. Shaana Berman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years of experience working in public schools, homes, and community settings to improve outcomes for children diagnosed with autism and other conditions. Dr. Berman has specialist credentials and extensive training in early childhood special education, assessment, curriculum and effective instructional practices. She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, with an emphasis in Educational Psychology, at the University of Southern California.

Description of Type 2 / Learning CE Event:
This course examines racial disparity in student performance in public education and special education programs, and disproportionate representation of students of color in special education programs. Participants will explore the impact of culturally responsive practices on student/client experiences and outcomes and barriers to equitable service provision. The course concludes with culturally responsive application strategies intended to reduce educational racial disparity and to promote equitable service provision.
