Course Description: Adolescent depression exposes youth to a myriad of short- and long-term consequences that impact multiple aspects of well-being. This study utilizes a dynamic network model to depict relationships among families of depressed adolescents. Resulting interactions of affective family interactions revealed interesting trends in the expression of anger and dysphoric affect between depressed and non-depressed families. Taken together, the results highlight the importance of the family environment in understanding adolescent depression. The findings are discussed in relation to their clinical and theoretical implications.
