Course Description: A systematic review and synthesis of recovery narratives was conducted to illuminate factors that influence recovery. The included recovery narratives were categorized into three groups and nine dimensions. Researchers found that narratives varied greatly, were multifaceted, changed over time, and had the potential to be nonlinear. The categorization of such narratives underscored the socioeconomic and systemic factors that influence the recovery process while easing the ability to identify related gaps in the literature.
