 Course Description: Clinical psychopharmacology is premised on the integration of scientific and medical advancements for mental health symptom mitigation. The continued emergence of empirically substantiated, psychopharmacological treatment modalities warrants consideration for effective patient care. This course explores DSM-V disorder categories respective of congruent, conventional, and innovative psychopharmacological treatment approaches. Medication indications and contraindications, dosages and related tapering and titration schedules, are discussed.

  • Recognize and understand the need for diverse psychopharmacological treatment approaches for mental health symptom mitigation
  • Identify disorder-congruent psychopharmacological treatment options
  • Identify and understand medication indications, contraindications, dosages and related titration and tapering schedules
  • Synthesize and integrate the information presented in this course into existent psychopharmacological knowledge
