Course Description: There has been a steady increase in the incidence of mental health issues in adolescent populations. Anxiety and depression are two of the most common mental health problems reported by adolescents and commonly co-occur. Schools are unique settings for prevention and intervention programs, but research is needed to identify person and program factors that impact the effectiveness of programs for these mental health problems. This course will introduce factors that impact program effectiveness in school settings and discuss the policy and practice implications that will lead to improved intervention success with diverse adolescent populations.
