Course Description: Cognitive abilities predict important health and well-being outcomes. The authors reviewed research on education and cognitive decline and dementia. The authors begin by reviewing adult cognitive development. The authors then review research on the connection between education and cognitive functioning in the adult population. The authors review some of the challenges in conducting research on educational achievement and aging. Origins and moderators of the link between education and adult cognitive abilities are explained.
