Dr. Hori earned a PhD in psychology from the University of California at Riverside. He was an Associate-In Professor and Research Assistant at the University of California at Riverside, where he supervised the completion of over 50 research projects in psychology. He is credited with three publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Course Description:
This course provides a review of the National Board for Certified Counselors Code of Ethics and the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. Additional documents include the Standards for the Ethical Practice of Internet Counseling published by the NBCC, and the Standards of Practice published by the ACA. Furthermore, this course includes an analysis of important ethical issues for counselors, including: confidentiality, informed consent, competence, client access to records, resolving ethical violations, and so on.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Delineate key ethical standards from the NBCC and ACA Codes of Ethics
  2. Apply ethical principles to practice issues
  3. Evaluate common ethical responsibilities for counselors
