Course Description: Ketamine treatment has been shown to reduce depressive and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. The authors of the study conducted a case study about ketamine assisted intensive outpatient psychotherapeutic treatment of a client that had PTSD resulting from racism and childhood sexual abuse. This study examines how ketamine might help in the treatment of PTSD and other mental health disorders. This study also highlights important implications of psychedelic assisted therapy for future research and clinical application.
Learning Objectives:
