Course Description: Economic materialism is the belief in the importance to acquire money and material possessions and has been conceptualized as either a set of personality traits or a set of values. The study examined the dual nature of the materialistic personality in terms of temporal perspective, subjective well-being, and materialism. Mediation analysis showed an indirect effect of a future-negative perspective in the relationship between materialism and well-being. Future research should examine the relationship between the two types of materialism, neuroticism, and well-being using additional instruments.
