Studies on the Link Between Psychopathy and Fear
March 10, 2017Traditionally, lack of emotions has been linked to psychopathy. Evidence emerged in the 1950s that showed that psychopath’s ability to learn threatening stimuli is impaired. Therefore, it has been concluded that threats do not elicit a response of fear or anxiety in individuals with psychopathy.
The American Psychological Association explores a study in Psychopaths Feel Fear But See No Danger, which presents possible evidence of the “existence of a relationship between fear and psychopathy in adult individuals.”
Some theories of lack of fear in psychopathy are further explored and put to question.
